The Mac preview is signed by Eggshell LLC and notarized by Apple. The Windows preview is unsigned, so Windows may warn about or block installation. Checksums below let you confirm that your download matches the published file.

From download to first project

A few steps.
Then you’re in.

Real agent work needs an internet connection and a supported model account with available credit. Model-provider charges are separate.

Install on Mac
  1. Choose the DMG for your Apple Silicon Mac. Local setup needs at least 6 GB RAM and 4 GB free disk space, plus room for project files.
  2. Open the disk image and drag Zipper into Applications.
  3. If you are updating, quit the existing copy of Zipper before replacing it. Open Zipper from Applications; the app is signed by Eggshell LLC and notarized by Apple.
  4. Choose Start on this computer, connect to an existing team, or explore the demo first.
Install on Windows
  1. Download the x64 EXE installer.
  2. Open it and follow the installation prompts. Windows may warn that the publisher is unknown because this build is unsigned.
  3. Launch Zipper and follow its setup checks. Local agent computers require a working Linux-container Docker backend, usually through Docker Desktop with WSL 2, plus OpenSSH Client. The setup checklist identifies missing prerequisites.
  4. Connect a supported model account before assigning agent work.
Install on Linux

For Debian or Ubuntu, open a terminal in your Downloads folder and install the package:

sudo apt install ./zipper_0.1.14_amd64.deb

For AppImage, allow the downloaded file to run, then open it:

chmod +x Zipper-0.1.14.AppImage
./Zipper-0.1.14.AppImage

Your distribution may need AppImage/FUSE support. Local agent computers also need Docker running and accessible to your user without sudo, plus OpenSSH client and curl. Follow the app’s prerequisite checks; keep the sandbox enabled.

Connect your first team
  1. Let setup check your computer and download any required runtime components. The installer download is only part of the initial setup. Setup shows its current step and latest activity; downloads and workspace updates can take several minutes. If it keeps waiting, use Show setup log in Zipper for details.
  2. Follow the short first-time walkthrough and choose OpenRouter, OpenAI, or Claude to open its connection options. Existing teams keep their connections. You can also open Connections to add a model account.
  3. Create a small team, add a project brief, and assign one concrete task.
  4. Keep the host awake and connected for background work, and review the output before using it.

Know what you’re installing

The files.
And the checks behind them.

The Mac app passed Apple notarization and Gatekeeper checks in both downloads. Its background runtime ran eight jobs and eight child processes without extra foreground apps, and bundled npm completed an offline install. The app extracted from each Linux package passed fresh-profile onboarding and renderer security checks in an x64 Docker environment. A native desktop installation and full agent workflow still need device testing. The Windows installer was cross-built; this version has not yet had a native Windows installation check.

These checks do not establish full agent-workflow coverage on every platform. Broader device testing and Windows signing are still ahead.
