Guide / Installation

Prepare the host.
Then meet the team.

Choose a computer that can host the workspace, connect a model, and verify one small task before adding more agents.

Current availability

Zipper is in preview. The download page lists current installers, platform requirements, and checksums. The browser demo requires no installation or model account.

Choose a file for your operating system and processor. The Apple Silicon Mac app is signed by Eggshell LLC and notarized by Apple. The Windows preview is unsigned. Review the download notes before installation.

Before installing

  • Choose the computer that will hold your workspace and project files.
  • Keep it awake and connected when you expect agents to work in the background.
  • Have access to a supported model connection with available credit or capacity.
  • Allow time for the runtime and initial agent-computer downloads.
  • Keep a copy of important work before testing a new development build.

Platform status

Release preparation, September 2026
PlatformCurrent evidence
macOSRecent packaged startup checks used a real Linux agent computer, command execution, and files preserved across stop and resume. The current Apple Silicon download is signed by Eggshell LLC, notarized by Apple, and verified with Gatekeeper.
WindowsThe x64 installer passed native installation and welcome-screen checks in an automated build. Full local-agent workflows need broader testing.
LinuxThe x64 Debian package passed native installation and welcome-screen checks in an automated build. AppImage packaging passed; a separate launch check is still needed.

Your first run

  1. Explore before connecting.

Use the desktop demo option if you want to understand the interface first. Example data does not represent live agent activity.

  2. Follow the setup for your build.

Prepare the host runtime, configure the model connection, and let the agent computer finish starting. Requirements can differ by platform.

  3. Verify one narrow task.

Ask an agent to create a small file in the intended project folder and explain where it saved the result. Inspect the file before expanding the workflow.

If setup fails

Keep the visible error, build version, operating system, and the step that failed. A port conflict, missing prerequisite, or failed model connection needs a different fix.

Avoid repeatedly launching setup while an earlier attempt is still working. Read the current state, resolve the reported issue, then retry.
